Hi, I'm Derick and I live in Stafford with my wife Debbie. I began my working life in banking, with Midland Bank at their Bull Ring Centre branch in Birmingham. Having moved into the building society industry, I became an executive officer with Blackheath Building Society in 1982. I have two children from my first marriage — Rachel, who is a teacher and has two children, Leah and Isaac — and John, a policeman with West Midlands Police, married to Jenna who are proud parents of four-year-old Jenson.
I entered the ministry in 1999 and have served in Walsall, Thame and Watlington, Mid-Warwickshire and now Stafford.
I played football, and then the 5-a-side version, for many years, tennis and ran in the 1986 London Marathon. I enjoy books and music, and have recently embarked upon play-writing. I still enjoy studying, especially learning about the Wesleys and Methodism. I hope to commence a degree course on Wesley Studies once I have retired.
