Hello, I'm David Bintliff, the Superintendent Minister of the Stafford Methodist Circuit.
My ministry has included roles in Chesterfield as a Youth Worker, supporting and developing youth programs and participation across the town, work as a fresh expressions worker, finding new ways and new places to support new Christians and those returning to faith based communities. Alongside these roles I served as a presbyter in the North Cheshire Circuit before God called us here to Stafford.
I strongly believe in encouraging discipleship, seeking to understand what God is calling us to both as individuals and as community, I believe in the need for the Church to be active in social justice, speaking truth to power and I believe that alongside these two aspects, enabling people, outside and inside our church communities to witness the wonder, grace and love of God shown through Jesus is hugely important.
As a presbyter and throughout my ministry in Circuits, I have always championed and found the best for communities of faith when we work collaboratively with one another, be that lay and ordained, ecumenically, or as the third sector supporting local community.
I'm an avid gamer (table top, board games or online) a musician, and amateur wood turner. I am blessed to share my life with an amazing wife and our incredible teenage daughter (and a menagerie of animals that come as part of the package with both of them).
From September 2025 part of my role within the life of the Circuit has changed, and alongside Superintendent duties, I am now also serving as the Deputy District Chair, supporting the mission and ministry of the West Midlands Methodist District; this means about a quarter of my ministry time is now offered outside the Circuit.
