Isobel Wakerell--

I have lived in Stafford for 25 years and in the wider Midlands for longer although I originate from Kent. Most of my career has been spent in science: originally in horticultural research and until February this year working for Staffordshire Scientific Services.

Although the post with the Methodist Circuit is a complete change of career non the less I really do feel it is a continuing of what God has called me to do. As a member of St John the Baptist, Littleworth, I have been involved in Pastoral Care for many years and was licenced a Lay Minister as a Reader in September 2017.

My two children are grown up and are happily pursuing the careers they dreamed of.
I love singing and sing in the church music group (when preaching allows) and belong to Stafford Choral Society. I'm never happier than in the garden (which has lead to jobbing gardening during my recent spell of unemployment) with an allotment to tend as well. Other interests include wildlife, birdwatching, the countryside and environment. I was involved in Guiding until recently and enjoy meeting and working with people of all ages.
I look forward to the work God has called me to as Pastoral Worker in the Circuit and pray that I may be worthy of the calling.
