At its most simple, prayer is just talking to God.
You don't need to do anything special, say anything special, be anywhere special. You can pray any time, any place, out loud or in your head and God will hear you.
And you can tell God anything, all the good and the bad stuff that's going on. There aren't any special words.
If you would like to pray, but don't know what to say, you can start with the Lord's Prayer, a prayer that Jesus taught his followers:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
